Gong to be very curious how Lappy coaches the phantoms. Will wins be more important to him than development?

Hopefully he doesn't go the play the vet route like Gordon did.

Konency was definitely a non-factor 3 quarters of the shorten season and a no show in the playoffs. He’ll get a pass, where not everyone has.

Bill,
Great article as always and a great view into the human side of hockey players.
It's irritating to see a handful of female Dogg "fans" cry and complain about last year. It was a messed up season for everyone and you said it perfectly that some players took it harder than others. In particular I felt the most sympathy for hart and konecny for obvious reasons. Being alone can be depressing. Feeling like a prisoner inside of a barren room can feel even worse.
Expect big bounce back seasons for both of these players mentioned!

Bill, is there any news on when Hayes will be back in Philly, if he hasn’t already?

Hoping TK can be a 30/30 guy -- Also hope that is his floor, not his ceiling

We have two really good young wingers in him and TK, let’s hope that they have their A game more often than not. If they can be consistent that will be a big step forward.

Spot on, I thought he's be on the trading block as well.

Please stop with the COVID...Almost every team and every player in the NHL played the same number of games in the same number of days...same amount of days to practice...same issues. Flyers had no travel to deal with last year. Fact is simple the team and most players on the Flyers out and out quit when things started going south and TK was one of them. Lets move on and try not to rationalize with excuses last years performance. Its a new season ,last year is behind them ,time to prove what they are made of. Some good moves have been made and the locker room change I think will be a big factor. Lets get it going

I always thought Konecny could have been a mini Marchand. Like that's his ceiling. But now if he ever got to that level, that's not just the ceiling. That's breaking the up into the attic through the floor joists.

I'm still confident he'll be the player we know he's capable of being.

I hear you..I had him in the Zuccarello...B Gallagher category of player...I still think he can be that if he wants to

Hi Bill

Not the biggest issue in 21-22, but will teams still have EBUGs?

Yea I mean Marchand is one of the best wingers in the league, if he’s in the tier right below that I’d be thrilled. He’s more than capable.

It's really being optimistic if Konecny would kill penalties like Marchand but I think offensively maybe a tier down from him?

In terms of carrying a 3rd NHL-contracted goalie? No. That's going away along with the Taxi Squad. But every NHL arena designates an in-house EBUG who is in the building and available in case both goalies on one team become incapacitated.

Yea I think he can be a consistent offensive threat night in and night out. He’s got the tools. He was just about that player two years ago lol
